Rant: Dear Remember the Milk, what’s up with Smart Add?
I’m posting this out of sheer frustration - I want smart add in more places than just twitter and the main page. I’m frustrated because I feel like just shouldn’t have to write this. In a way, this is just the cherry on top when it comes to my frustration with RTM. Why isn’t the product getting better (at more than a release ever year)?
Anyway, in my humble opinion, Smart add should be available from:
1. A bookmarklet. Why on earth should we have to fill in all those fields? To me it should just be “What do you want to add to RTM?” with a blank field.
2. A simple POST api. Posting to twitter is as easy as http://username:password@api.twitter.com/1/statuses/update.xml and then including your post as the encoded data. This can be done via Autohotkey or Applescript or whatever… Why can’t RTM do the same thing (and include Smart Add)?
Work with me RTM. Update your site more often. Read a few articles about what has changed with your competitors and compete! A simple google search for “RTM vs.” will provide you the billion analyses that have been done… I want you to win. I love your interface and I find everything you’ve done on the webpage to be very user friendly. However, I’m not sure our relationship can survive like this… I give and I give…
Seriously though - is a pro membership worth it? Naively, I thought I was sponsoring development…
Pogue’s latest post seems about a year late…
I know he’s saying that the majority of people are in the dark, but I wonder how true that is. These services are all over the news… Wouldn’t you have to live in a box to find this stuff new?

Cracks me up. I love that there’s nothing lame like “paper” in the mix. I’d probably end up loving “pirate” too much and get predictable.
